On-and-off ramps at Böblingen-Ost, the closest autobahn (A81) access point to Panzer Kaserne, will be closed from October through next spring as part of large-scale construction work, with the nearby Sindelfingen-Ost interchange serving as the designated detour.

The on-ramp toward Stuttgart will close Oct. 5. The same detour route used during the previous closure of this ramp in August (via County Road 1055/”Frog Road”) will be in effect again.

Further disruptions will begin at 10 p.m. on Oct. 20, when the off-ramp at Böblingen-Ost (coming from Stuttgart) will also close. Traffic that would normally exit here should leave the autobahn one exit earlier at Sindelfingen-Ost.

These closures are part of an ongoing project to widen the A81 and convert the Böblingen-Ost interchange from a “half-junction” into a “full junction,” allowing vehicles to both enter and exit the highway in both directions.

Community members should expect these changes to impact commutes to and from Panzer Kaserne over the coming months. Please stay alert for updated signage and detour routes as construction progresses, and allow for extra travel time as needed.
