A major renovation project affecting the Patch Fitness Center and nearby facilities will begin in the coming months in support of requirements related to ventilation and climate control.
Importantly, there will be no full or large-scale closure of the fitness center.
“We’ll work with the Directorate of Public Works to ensure as little impact as possible on our available space and equipment,” said John Hamilton, Community Recreation Officer for Stuttgart Family & MWR.
Each phase will be worked one at a time to allow for as much operational capacity as possible. Parts of the Fitness Center will be impacted at different times, and some portions might not be impacted at all.
“There was a recent planning meeting where we discussed the scope of the work, timelines, and potential impacts to our customers, but none of these details are yet confirmed,” Hamilton said. “When we do have certainty, we will keep you informed through our digital media platforms and at our facility.”
Parking directly behind the building, approximately 40 spots, will be closed once the project begins; however, availability of parking in the general area will be improved with the full reopening of both lots around the Patch Commissary by Sept. 30.
All other fitness centers throughout the garrison footprint will also remain open with 24/7 access capabilities.
We understand your concerns about the upcoming project and will work together as a garrison team to keep you informed about all developments. Stay tuned to the garrison Facebook page, Stuttgart Family and MWR Facebook page,, and StuttgartCitizen.com for accurate and timely updates.
