A section of Panzerstrasse in Böblingen will be fully closed over this coming weekend for construction work, impacting a primary route to and from Panzer Kaserne.

Local authorities have announced that the road will be closed between Bunsenstrasse and Waldburgstrasse from 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25, through 5 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 28, as workers prepare to install a cycling bridge.

Travelers approaching Panzer Kaserne from the north (for example, to/from Sindelfingen or Autobahn 81), who would usually travel via Panzerstrasse, will need to follow a detour starting at the thermal baths intersection through Böblingen to Herdweg. Allow extra travel time for using alternate routes.

There is no impact to travelers destined for Panzer Kaserne who are approaching from the south (Schönaich, Waldenbuch, etc.), or who are leaving Panzer in that direction. Detour signs will be in place at the roundabout by the Penny supermarket in Schönaich, but it is not necessary for Panzer-bound traffic to follow it.

Herdweg, the street on which both the Panzer Kaserne and Panzer Housing main gates are located, will also remain open during this time.

This closure is the second of a total of three short-term closures required for the cycling bridge project, according to the Böblingen district website. The first was in July.
