National Language Service Corps seeks volunteers

Do you speak English and another language? Are you a US citizen? Are you looking for ways to use your language skills to make a difference in your state, your nation, or your world?If yes, then the National Language Service Corps may be for you.

The NLSC is looking for U.S. citizens who are skilled in English and at least one other language who make themselves available when there is a sudden, short-term need for language skills in support of any U.S. government agency.The program is seeking to expand its membership to those located world-wide.

NLSC assignments require a diverse membership to support the needs of existing and potential client agencies.

What are you becoming a part of by enrolling into the NLSC?

By joining the NLSC, you are joining a national pool of on-call volunteers who are willing to volunteer their language skills in an effort to serve the Federal Government at a time of need. If an assignment comes up that requires your skills, NLSC will contact you, but the decision to participate in the assignment is yours; you may decline any assignment based upon your interest and/or availability.

Languages in critical need , but not limited to: German, Romanian, Korean, Norwegian, Dutch, Swedish, and Kurdish.
