Weather in Baden-Württemberg for this week: Windy, cloudy, rainy

After a summery warm, but partly rainy weekend, the new week is also set to bring rain. In addition, there will be a lot of clouds in the sky throughout Baden-Württemberg. It could also be windy – gusts of wind are expected in several places. According to the German Weather Service (DWD), the last thunderstorms are expected on Monday.
The week is set to start with cool air and some clouds. According to the DWD, it will initially remain dry on Monday morning. From midday, heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected. In these areas, there could also be hail, heavy rain and stormy gusts. The maximum temperatures will be between 15 and 23 degrees.
The showers and clouds will largely subside on Tuesday night. However, the weather experts expect the clouds to return in the course of the day. Light rain is also expected. The wind is expected to be slightly weaker on Tuesday than the day before.
Wednesday will also start with lots of clouds and locally light showers. At 14 to 20 degrees, the DWD weather forecast predicts the coolest day of the week. Stronger gusts of wind may blow through the region at times.
Clouds and showers are expected to decrease during the night to Thursday. During the day, there will only be isolated showers. The wind will persist with strong and stormy gusts in places. Towards Friday, the DWD announces that it should remain mostly dry. Even with many clouds in the sky. (SN, July 1, 2024)

Important road in Böblingen – Half-sided closure of “Wolfgang-Brumme-Allee” finally lifted

Anyone who regularly drives through Böblingen will finally be relieved by this news: Wolfgang-Brumme-Allee between the two traffic circles Talstraße and Friedrich-List-Platz is expected to be open again from Tuesday, the city has announced. The road was closed on one side for more than two and a half years due to the Pulse construction project. As recently as March, it was said that it would be open to traffic in both directions again from May. This schedule could obviously not be adhered to. Now it’s the beginning of July. The planned opening of the first stores in Pulse is not far off. They are due to open their doors on July 17. The new Pulse townhouse is one of the largest construction projects in Böblingen, costing more than 100 million euros. It was built in the immediate vicinity of the Mercaden shopping center and replaces the old City Center between Wolfgang-Brumme-Allee and Olgastrasse. The developer is Böblinger Baugesellschaft (BBG), which intends to combine commercial, residential and retail space in the new building.  In the fall, 84 apartments should be ready. There will be two- to four-room apartments ranging from 55 square meters to 120 square meters. 250 car parking spaces in an underground garage and 80 bicycle parking spaces are available to visitors, with a further 100 parking spaces reserved for residents. The Pulse is not only intended to bring new life to the city, but also to loosen up the cityscape. The townhouse no longer consists of one block, but of two building sections with a large square in the middle. (SN, July 1, 2024)

EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP 2024 – Germany vs Spain:

The dream of winning the European Championship title on home soil lives on. Although the German national soccer team’s performance in the round of 16 against Denmark was not flawless – there were also heated discussions about several VAR decisions; however, the DFB team is through to the quarter-finals. That’s the main thing.
And there’s a soccer thriller in store: Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann’s team will face Spain, who deservedly beat European Championship newcomers Georgia 4:1 in their round of 16 match.
The match between Germany and Spain will take place in Stuttgart. It is the second match that the German team has played at the home of VfB Stuttgart. In the preliminary round, the DFB team defeated Hungary 2:0 at the same venue – perhaps a good omen?

Kick-off for the first European Championship quarter-final between Germany and Spain is at 6 pm. The match will be broadcast by ARD and MagentaTV.

Germany versus Spain: What is the record?
With nine wins, nine draws and eight defeats, the record is slightly in Germany’s favor. There have been three encounters at the European Championships so far: two of them went to the Iberians and Germany won once.  (SN, July 1, 2024)
