USAG Stuttgart Public Affairs
Sept. 29, 2023
A lapse in appropriations before the Oct. 1 deadline would force portions of the government to close, which may incur some impact on the USAG Stuttgart mission.
Be assured that there will be no impact to mission-essential services. Operations and activities essential to life, health and safety, as well as the protection of our national security, are exempt from shutting down and will continue as normal.
Offices considered non-mission essential may see degradation in service. However, our local national employees, who comprise a significant percentage of the USAG Stuttgart workforce, are exempt from furlough and therefore will continue providing their services to our community.
If there are any questions as to whether a garrison service will be shut down or degraded, please check for the latest information on the USAG Stuttgart App and StuttgartCitizen.com.
Mission partners including the Exchange, Commissaries, and DoDEA (except sports and extracurricular activities) anticipate normal operations.
If necessary, we will share further details regarding service-specific impacts when these are available.
