How many tents are at the Cannstatter Wasen this year?

There will be four tents at the Stuttgart Spring Festival starting April 22.: The Grandls Hofbräuzelt, the Göckelesmaier and the Festzelt zum Wasenwirt. A new tent joins the line-up this year: Nina Renoldi’s Königsalm.

How much do sweets and snacks cost?

Visitors to the spring festival can expect only a slight increase in prices for treats on the festival grounds compared to before the pandemic. Weather in Baden-Württemberg Thunderstorms with hail and heavy rain expected

Spring continues to be a long time coming in Baden-Württemberg. At the start of the weekend, people in the southwest can expect real April weather. This was announced by the German Weather Service (DWD).  Friday is expected to be mild with temperatures ranging from 12 to 19 degrees. In the afternoon and evening, there could then be thunderstorms in many places – especially in the mountains – with heavy rain and small-grained hail. Saturday is supposed to start sunny and then bring more and more clouds in the course of the day. In the afternoon, rain and local thunderstorms are likely, especially in the west. According to the DWD, temperatures will reach a high of 16 to 23 degrees. (Stuttgarter Nachrichten, April 21)

“Speed camera marathon” continues

At the end of the working week, the police in Baden-Württemberg want to increase traffic speed checks once again. On Friday, with a “speed marathon” the most checks of the week will take place, as the Ministry of the Interior announced. The so-called speed camera marathon has been running since Monday. The goal of the action is to strengthen the danger consciousness. Because the most frequent reason for fatal accidents is excessive speed.  According to the ministry, speed cameras will be used especially at schools, daycare centers, retirement homes and accident blackspots. Where exactly the mobile measuring stations are located is not published in Baden-Württemberg, in contrast to other federal states. “We want road users to adhere to the applicable speed limits across the board and not just selectively,” a spokesman said.

Where speed cameras are mainly used in Stuttgart

In Stuttgart, too, the locations for the checks are selected spontaneously, according to a police spokesman. However, the main focus in the state capital is to be on the Autobahns. With mobile laser devices of the motorcycle squad and light barriers of the traffic police, the officers are called upon to increasingly measure the speed.

The “speed camera marathon” is part of a control week coordinated throughout Europe. Last year, 400,000 vehicles were measured in Baden-Württemberg and around 15,500 violations were punished. More checks will be carried out up to and including Sunday (April 23). The cities, municipalities and districts are also taking part in the campaign. (Stuttgarter Nachrichten, April 21)
