Caution when consuming poppy seeds

 

As a measurement of precaution, it is currently advised that Service Members do not consume foods that include poppy seeds, due to a high chance of testing positive for codeine on a drug test.

The list of foods includes bagels, muffins, cakes, breads, crackers, and poppy seed oils. 

This is not permanent, the DOD is sending out a warning to Service Members and will be updating their findings in the coming months.
