Starting June 11, the Stuttgart Vehicle Inspection station will introduce a new staging area and queuing system for both walk-in and online appointment customers.
The new area is located near the vehicle registration and inspection building (Bldg. 2930] and adjacent the parking area for newly arrived POVs. Signage for the entrance to the queueing area is located near the camouflage container, which houses the sign-in coordinator.
“Customers who use our walk in service will be directed to drive their vehicles in a queuing area where they will be met by a POV inspection coordinator who will ensure they have all the required documents,” said Stephanie Kramer, director, BASOPS Maintenance Division, 405th Army Field Support Brigade. “Those customers who have scheduled online appointments will be directed to a nearby reserved parking area.”
Walk-in customers will remain in their vehicles and be directed to the next available open bay. Once the inspection is complete, the inspector will finish all the paperwork in the bay and provide the inspection paperwork to the customer.
“Upon a passed inspection, the customer can then go to the vehicle registration office to have their vehicle registered,” Kramer said.
With the PCS season nearing its peak period, the Stuttgart vehicle inspection and vehicle registration teams are encouraging their customers to schedule online appointments well in advance if they have to reregister their vehicles and give themselves plenty of time to get any repairs done if their vehicle does not pass the inspection the first time.
The telephone number to the Vehicle Inspection Station is 07031-15-2400; the Vehicle Registration Office is 07031-15-2833; and the POV Shipping Office is 07031-15-2617.
