Robinson Barracks Elementary School
The Robinson Barracks Elementary School Parent Teacher Student Association, in collaboration with RBES fine arts teacher Susan Smith, showcased the amazing talents of the students all in one night.
The “Exploring the Arts” night, Dec. 7, celebrated the creativity of the RB students through two and three dimensional art projects across all grade levels. The works were displayed during an open house.
The RBES after school show choir club performed and the evening was capped off by a wonderful musical performance of “Christmas on the Radio” by the 4th and 5th grade students. The singing students shared many classic holiday songs and a few new ones. It was a great night shared together by the RB family.
The RBES Drama Club put on a magnificent performance of “On With the Snow,” teaching their fellow students about the spirit of the holiday time of year. The Drama Club is an after school club. The students from grades 1-5 work hard throughout the fall to prepare for the performance, led by the faculty members Stacey Mease, Carlen McGoldrick and Clover Stephenson. (Note, if you’re an RB student and are interested in drama, a new performance rehearsal schedule will come out in February for the spring show.)
The student body at RBES took their an annual “Jingle Jog” around the Robinson Barracks. RBES mascot, Boris the Bulldog, joined the students as they prepared for their trek. The students enjoyed time together with classmates exercising, sometimes seeing a snowflake or two and singing carols. The RBES PTSA served hot chocolate to the students and teachers as they arrived back at school.
To end 2018, the garrison’s law enforcement professionals also got into the holiday spirit by visiting the students for a seasonal sendoff. The MPs and USAG Stuttgart Police Department brought holiday cheer with music and high fives as the students headed off for a 2 1/2 week break.
It has been a great 2018. The RBES students can’t wait for the new year!
