Navy Marine Corps Relief Society
On July 29 the Navy Marine Corps Relief Society opened its doors to new office space at U.S. Army Garrison Stuttgart’s Army Community Service, Building 2915, Panzer Kaserne.
The U.S. European Command Chief of Staff Rear Adm. John Christenson, Marine Forces Europe/Africa Deputy Commander Col. Norm Cooling and U.S. Army Garrison Stuttgart Commander Col. John Stack were on hand to officially open the office.
NMCRS provides financial assistance and education to members of the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps, their eligible family members, widows and survivors. NMCRS also offers a Budget for Baby class to all military branches of expecting active duty service members and their spouses.
The main goal of NMCRS is to help each person get support for their immediate needs. The long-term mission is to help Sailors and Marines become financially self-sufficient by learning how to better manage their personal finances and prepare for unplanned expenses.
NMCRS will offer walk-in service Tuesday and Thursday from noon to 4 p.m.
NMCRS is in need of volunteers. The next annual casework training will be held the week of Oct. 13. Email StuttgartNMCRS@gmail.com to reserve a spot.
